Conceived within the framework of the Nuovo Grand Tour residency, promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris, Demorar à l’estacha*, Approches Creusoises is an ongoing project exploring the intersections of collective and individual memory in the rural French region of Creuse. It seeks to shed light on the processes through which knowledge and traditions are transmitted, while examining the relationship to land and landscape as a foundation of identity.
Drawing on the stories and personal archives of local inhabitants, as well as research conducted at the Departmental Archives of Creuse, an artist’s book in the form of a limited-edition leporello takes shape. The work establishes a dialogue between archival photographs of the region, deteriorated negatives recovered from an abandoned attic, and Polaroids produced during the month-long residency.
The leporello reactivates rural heritage through the proposal of a new interpretative and narrative framework, while at the same time functioning as a form of restitution of the residency period.

Concepito nell’ambito della residenza Nuovo Grand Tour, promossa dall’Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Parigi, Demorar à l’estacha*, Approches Creusoises è un progetto in corso che esplora le intersezioni tra memoria collettiva e individuale nel contesto rurale della regione francese della Creuse. Il progetto intende mettere in luce i processi attraverso i quali si trasmettono saperi e tradizioni, indagando al contempo il rapporto con la terra e il paesaggio come fondamento dell’identità.
A partire dalle storie e dagli archivi personali degli abitanti locali, così come dalle ricerche condotte presso gli Archivi dipartimentali della Creuse, prende forma un leporello autoprodotto in edizione limitata.
